Watchlists

Description

The Watchlist window works in the same way as the Market Window. The main difference is that it is possible to add symbols from all markets you have access to.

How to open

Choose "Watchlist" from the Tools section in the main menu or type "Watchlist" in search.

List

Add symbols from any market you have access to using "+ Add", or open a saved list from the "Select List" drop-down.

Symbol information - In order to get more information about a symbol, right-click on any row and choose an option from the right-click menu.

Keyboard search - With the window selected, begin typing on your keyboard in order to search within the list. Once you press ENTER on your keyboard, the symbol will be displayed on the top of the Watchlist window. See "User Interface" to configure what should happen when you search in this window.

Deleting symbols

Right click and choose Edit | Delete or user the keyboard shortcut (Del) to delete a symbol from the Watchlist.

Deleting Entire Lists

Once you have opened a saved list, right-click and choose Edit > Delete List to delete it.

Adding Custom Headlines

Custom headlines can be added by selecting Other > Add Headline from the right click menu.

The text and background color of all headlines can be customized in the "Edit colors and fonts" window tool menu.

Notice that in a list with headlines, sorting by clicking on the column captions have been disabled. You can move symbols up or down your list by selecting it, and using the up and down arrows in the interface.

Highlighting and modifying a symbol

Custom Background color - Customize the background color for a symbol by right-clicking on an instrument and choosing Other > Symbol color from the right click menu.

To clear a custom background color, right-click on the symbol and choose Other > Clear Symbol color.

Custom Symbol Description

It is possible to define a custom description for a symbol by right clicking on the instrument and selecting Other > Custom Symbol description.

The custom description will also be used by other windows in the terminal, such as charts.

All custom descriptions are indicated with an asterisk (*).

To remove a custom description, right-click on the symbol and select Other > Clear Custom Description.

Ranking

Rank today's winners, losers and symbols with highest turnover. Use "Source" in the menu to change between your Watchlist, or chains.

Columns

Select Columns - If you would like to add, change or remove any of the data shown in a market window, Watchlist, or chain, right-click on a header and click "Select Columns".

Sorting Columns - Sort by turnover, last price or any other column by double-clicking on the column headers. The list will automatically keep itself sorted.

Group your holdings

You can group your holdings in your portfolio from the drop-down menu called "Group By".

News and Events

You will see news and events related to your instruments in the "News" and "Events" panel. You can customize the sources for your news by right-clicking in the panel and choosing "Sources". You can adjust the time period of upcoming events by right-clicking in the "Events" panel and choosing your desired period.

Portfolio Tracker using trading window

In the Portfolio tab in the trading window, you will find a button: "Portfolio Tracker".

This will open up your entire trading portfolio in the Portfolio Tracker, allowing you to chart, group, see events and news related to your positions.

Benchmark Symbols

Market windows and custom lists have a column called "Benchmark Symbol". The benchmark symbol allows you to set a benchmark for any given instrument. By default, the main index for the home market of the instrument will be chosen, where available.

By double-clicking on the benchmark symbol "DAX" in the above example, a new chart will open showing you a benchmark compare chart.

In the Benchmark Compare chart, you can see annualized performance data for your instrument and the corresponding benchmark. Choose the time period you wish to annualize for in the chart period menu on the bottom of the chart.

There is also a shortcut tick-box to automatically adjust for dividends.

Pro tip: You can modify the benchmark symbol by clicking on the benchmark symbol ("DAX" in this case) in the chart above. This will open the Search Benchmark window and allow you to change the benchmark symbol for the current instrument.

Pro tip: You can also open the Benchmark Compare chart directly from the chart in the compare menu.

You can modify the benchmark symbol by right clicking on the instrument in a market window or Watchlist. Then choose Other and choosing "Select Benchmark Symbol".

See Live Market Data In Any Currency

In your Watchlist, you can choose to see your instruments market data in one of many currencies.

1. Open Your Watchlist.

2. Choose your Target Currency from the "Target ccy" menu.

3. Remove the tick-box for "Only Convert Summaries" in the "Target ccy" menu.

Alerts

How to open

Select Tools, Advanced Settings from the main menu.

Notification

Show alerts for:

Trading halt status - When trading is halted by an exchange

News event count-down - Some news feeds support time-based releases.

Exchange open/close messages - When an exchange is opening or closing

General

Show notification window for - The amount of time an alert should be visible for

Quote alerts

Default double click action - Defines what should happen when double-clicking on a quote (price) alert.

Market calendar alerts

Notify in advance - When setting an alert for calendar events, the terminal can warn you in advance

Trading Alerts

Sounds

Music, sound clips or any other type of audible alert can be used to notify you when trading related events have taken place. Wave (.wav) files are supported.
